Our Pastor:
Rev. Ron Schermerhorn
Pastor Ron joined Forest Hills Presbyterian Church EPC in January of 2025. He is deeply devoted to the people of our church and the community of Wilson. His sermons are rooted in the Word of God, offering uplifting messages guided by the Holy Spirit. Pastor Ron brings a wealth of experience, having attended Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA. He began part-time associate ministry in 1981, moving into full-time pastoral ministry after graduating from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1988. Additionally, he served as a full-time Hospice Chaplain from 2004 to 2014, while also working as an interim pastor for local churches during that decade. He attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary from 2015 to 2017.
Pastor Ron is married to Heather, and they have two grown children who live with their families in North Carolina. Ron and Heather celebrated their marriage in 1983. They have 5 grandchildren, 3 girls and 2 boys, who are the joy of their lives.
Minister of Music:
Scott Harold
Scott is a very gifted musician who is called to serve the Lord through his talents. Scott leads our worship band. Our worship is blended contemporary christian music with traditional additions that make the worship experience welcoming for all people. Scott's wife Laura is a blessing to the church, as she leads the work of the Audio and Visual team. Together they have a wonderful ministry among us. They are deepely loved and appreciated.
Scott and Laura had their first child, Wren Rose on December 31 of 2025. She was born into a very big church family.
Our Church Family
At Forest Hills Presbyterian Church EPC, our ministry team leaders collaborate to nurture and expand the church's mission. We offer diverse opportunities for involvement, including a vibrant and growing music ministry. Our dedicated Property team continuously upgrades and expands church facilities. The Ministry and Hospitality team actively fosters fellowship and develops our children's ministries. The Mission Team partners with Samaritan's Purse and other missionaries, while also supporting local new church plants. The Personnel team ensures our staff and workers remain focused on ministry. The Finance and Stewardship Team manages the financial affairs of FHPC. Finally, the Music and Worship Team works alongside our Minister of Music to innovate and enhance our worship experiences.
